Beach House That Consumes Less Energy Than It Provides

Sunday, August 28, 2011

Cannon Beach Residence is meant by Nathan smart Architect with sustainability in mind. it's located on the Oregon beach and provides a lot of energy that it consumes. that's doable due to 5kWh rooftop photovoltaic system and 12-inch-thick concrete walls. There are solar-thermal tubes that offer hot water and a ground-source heat pump that warms and cools the air. The home is L-shaped and wrapped around Sitka spruce that’s thirty eight inches in diameter. Recycled materials were used throughout construction and also the home is designed to last multiply generations. It perfectly blends into the forested hillside because of its sedum-sprouting inexperienced roof. One facet of the house has views of Haystack Rock whereas the opposite – views of the beach. lots of windows offer the house with lots of the natural lightweight.
